HHS+ 1.0 to 1.03 Feedback thread

I've been dropping status updates in the New Project HHS+ thread for a while now, but it seems that people miss those updates. So I'll be using this thread to keep the status updates for now.

With the release of 1.04, there's a slight change to the rules (and thread is solely for feedback now).

1) If it's related to the installation or download of the 1.0x release, post in HHS+ Release thread.
2) If it's related to bugs/errors for 1.0x release, post in the Official Bug Reports thread or add to the bug tracker.
3) If it's feedback/comments related to the 1.0x final release version, post here.

A list of major features is available here. It might be forgetting something, but this should be the bulk of the major changes.

The upgrade to Sex club event is considered optional for 1.0 release, same as the Transe/Strip club upgrades.

What is the status of this new editor?
If i download the latest revision would i be able to start making events?
I an singed up on the repository so i will be able to get the latest one you guys have/are working on.(got inv)

Also can you tell me how many events have been converted so far and how many are left? checklist of sorts?

Yeah, the editor is pretty much finished. I still add new actions here and there if they are needed, but thus far we have everything we need, I think.

As for the progress: You can check the Event Conversion thread in the HHS+ Development subforum.
Converted events have a .ve.xml extension while old events only have a .xml extension. But some events are also simply in new folder locations (button events now belong into their locational folder) or have been merged into other events.

So my first attempt at this ended up getting eaten when the forum randomly decided I didn't have permission to post. Bizarre, but also annoyed at myself for forgetting to copy the post just in case. Fairly small update.

  • One gym event completed. (hellclerk's first)
  • Maid Club unlock events now care more about club members being present and Ameli being present before running. All events shift Ameli to being in the next club in the sequence until Maid is unlocked.
  • Cooking/Music/Theater now have their maid unlock checks in the same place blocking the cabaret request event from occurring until Hurricane Ameli has blown through that club. Events also check if cabaret is known when doing the cabaret request, enabling the event to flow on to the upgrade event automatically if known.
  • All Clubs to date upgrade to next club properly, including member transfers to the next version club.
  • Maid Club -> Cabaret Club sequence is nearly complete, and is just missing one event before it should be ready for upload.
  • Entry to Smallville Times is once again prohibited, now with a Smallville Times Media Pass required for entry into the offices instead of a contact sheet or whatever the key item was before from the reporter/photoshop line. This change is in the idea that there might be other ways added to get the media pass or other uses for the media pass in the future. (of course, looking in the folder just now, I find "pressbadge.xml" but that just doesn't sound impressive, so needs to be replaced. ;) )
  • Annette quest started. It's being split into three events - start to arrival, hacking to rent discussion, working for rent. First third is complete, remainder is on hold until I know how to add Annette to the city on her arrival.
  • BakaGaijin has started work on converting the MC Device Trance covert action. When that is complete, we'll have our first event section 100% complete.

I'm considering doing a sweep of the Hidden items folder to clear out obsolete items that have been replaced by variable references or the like. Initial view points to ~48-50 items to be eliminated at the moment (Cooking/Music/Theater/Maid event triggers, loan triggers, drug triggers, Coppers event triggers) and I'm thinking there may only be 11-20 hidden items at the end (out of 143ish).

You are doing a great job on the conversions and everything else. Enormous. I look forward to the moment you manage to upload an stable public version.

And I did not finish with Mrs. Brown's pics yet ... :-(

Lay on the pressure, why don't you! :P

The event is rather straightforward and the checks are MUCH simpler than the CreateDrug button event, but it's still a pain. The MultiCompareDouble functions are very, very useful. Still, some things do need to be adjusted/changed slightly to get the event to work out as intended. At least I have experience this time!

Don't think of it as pressure, think of it as glee at achieving the first major milestone of the event conversion project. ;)

If you want pressure, consider that only thing holding up the first stable release in ~6 months or more... is event conversion (and subsequent bug checks). :D

This might've gone up sooner, but I was putting it off until I could declare the Maid->Cabaret line done. Also, not much has happened.

  • VEE
    • Set Club President action added.
    • Bug fixes.
    • Club President Eligibility (and setting) function added. Checks random person from club list vs list of names. If name matches, checks person's club vs list of allowed clubs. If name and club matches (or name not in list), set as club president. Otherwise grabs new random person from club list. (Will need to set some settings in the function for a particular club plus some stuff set in the event calling the function.)
    • Club upgrade functions added for Cooking/Theater/Music lines with room to grow.
  • Events
    • Maid Club unlock path modified to use Set Remote Schedule. Maid Club Start event sequence is now simpler.
    • Cooking, Music, and Theater club lines modified to make use of setting club president, and club upgrade functions.
    • Some Coppers events changed to make use of Set Remote Schedule.
    • Maid Club to Cabaret Club events added.

At this point, Cooking/Music/Theater/Maid Clubs should go as high as they could in 0.7 (though not as high as event xml show they could). And with the use of setting a club president, we have a single person to deal with in the relevant events, rather than random person picked each time.

Hopefully next update I can say that Cooking/Music/Theater/Maid lines are complete to the point they were in 0.7 (and now accessible, unlike in 0.7). After that, I might tackle Exhibition if someone else doesn't get it first, or maybe Cheerleader.

Not much was done event-wise, but pretty major reorganization of a section was done.

  • VEE
    • Remote Event can now take a variable.
    • bug fixes
  • Game
    • Event Pictures was reorganized. Now has 4 top level folders - Location, Clubs, Character, Custom.
      • Location is fairly in line with the event folder. Pictures go here for events that happen in a specific location (that aren't tied to a club or character).
      • Clubs holds folders for club event pictures. Pictures should go to appropriate club folder rather than location folder even if no events are occurring elsewhere for that club (see Cooking Club/Restaurant or Music Club).
      • Character is the folder for event pictures for specific characters/character event lines. It also holds the folder for all principal condition pictures - sleeping, aroused, masturbating, dead, etc.
      • Custom is the catch-all folder for picture folders that don't really match up better elsewhere. Includes "azd events" folder, MC Device folder, etc.
      • There are still 3ish pictures unsorted in the main Event Pictures folder because I wasn't sure where they'd be more appropriately located.
    • Schedule Handlers added for special cases - Annette away and unemployed teachers.
    • A number of Hidden items were deleted as obsolete (~51 total).
    • A couple items/pictures renamed slightly to fix spelling errors.
  • Events
    • A lot of converted events needing tweaked to fix picture paths due to the reorganizing of the Event Pictures folder. A few have been fixed already.
    • One event deleted without conversion as obsolete (Down Town's noentry event).

Shilo, just want to let you know that I'm torn on the remote events improvement, because I got done setting up the remote events to not need any pass in stuff and vowed to stop tweaking that group of events to make use of new stuff... and then right after, you added that (which I think I actually suggested). ;D

Started the Hooter line instead of finishing the CMTM clubs. Got stalled plotting the conversion out last night because I was thinking an optional side event in the sequence would have a larger effect on a later event, but a good night's sleep has me thinking otherwise. So now the stall point would be at the boy-toy vs ally choice. There will be likely 7 events in the line - first event split into 3, middle (non-optional) event split into 2, last three merged into one.

Well, BakaGaijin will be losing internet at the end of the month, but he's working to get the MC Device trance 'spell' converted in time (possibly without all the pictures in place). Flagon had a bad case of Real Life, but appears to have recovered from it enough to get back to helping.

  • VEE had bug fixes.
  • Events
    • Most to all(?) events have had image paths fixed.
    • Flagon reappeared with a pile of classroom event conversions. Looks like he split the classroom 1 event into more specific events, plus did the GroupHypnosis event for classroom 1.
    • Hooter line up through retrieving spy cam pictures and panties from Peter's room complete. HooterStart, PeterStart, PeterHome.

At this point, the Hooter line technically hasn't finished converting the first event xml in the line (it stops after the confrontation with Peter (with toy/ally choice)), but the optional hooter2 event with Peter is done, so 1.67 files in the line complete? ;D With Classroom 1 completely converted, we now have 8 locations switched over now out of 60 needing conversion. For those wondering, when Exhibition Club is fully converted, it'll complete 7 more locations.

While converting the MC Device Trance 'spell', BakaGaijin has run into an issue with picture selection. So I'm putting it out here. We need pictures for this event for the following actions (from his list, adjusted by me from looking at the pics currently available for the event):

    • Convert to String, Remove Item from Location, Set Person Sexual Preference actions added. (As a result of the convert to string action, all doubles should use US number format for consistency of "." vs "," in string representation.)
    • Number of bug fixes and improvements.
  • Game
    • Fixed leak due to multiple events having successful try blocks at same time, and various other fixes and improvements.
    • Staff folder reorganized slightly. Now looks more like PTA folder, with person xml being in the folder named after them. Events involving the specific person (like with PTA parent/child specific events) can now be dropped into an Events folder within the person's folder.
  • Events
    • All non-club events shifted from Classroom 1-6 to Classroom Shared.
    • Classroom 2, Class Lunch Orgy, and BiGirl events have been converted.
    • Yell at this person 'attack' has been converted, is in need of additional images according to the person that converted it.
    • Carmen Smith's BoyEncounter event conversion has started, and was moved to Staff\Carmen Smith\Events\.

Sounds like a great idea, put up an Alpha release version, so everyone not a member of the SVN can see how far its come, and how much work you, Taiho, and the others have put in. Just be sure to make it clear that it is a temporary step backwards in event count to try and head off at least some of the questions.
