In the end this is a game that is being made and worked on by people for free. That usually means it gets worked on in said peoples free time, I dont mean to assume but I am guessing that things may have slowed down a bit due to current events. figuring out the logistics of working from home can take up some time. If the worst happened and people lost their jobs that doesnt mean they have excess time to work on a free game that will stay niche, they would need to figure out their day to day and try to find new jobs in order to pay bills. Yes the game has been at 1.9.5 for a long time, there are extenuating circumstances that most likely contributed to this.
That said there is a 1.10 that will be coming soon as they do have a 1.10 beta out to select people for testing. You can find the thread talking about it here https://www.henthighschool.com/hhs-development/hhs-1-10-0-1st-beta-test/

You didn't answer his questions, and merely presented the same answers he preemptively was trying to prevent. Let it be said that this game was made from home regardless, and the lockdown nonsense should not effect whatever game progress was being made, especially over a year of it. I will defer to the devs after this, as this topic tends to make certain people passionate.

But that IS the answer, regardless if he likes it or not.

If he want to try out different changes to the game there is a mod-thread to check out. If that aint enough try to make mods to it yourself, if you have any ideas. Maby it will be well recieved. Who knows, maby even implemented into the game ;) Though, that's just me jumping to conclusions.

@Jeans
It's not that I want to try mods or even create any myself.
To be clear, the game has been in a testing phase for years. The users of this forum are the willing testers (and I am also very grateful to be able to play this game). Now with 1.10 several big changes are coming into the game, so it's quite understandable that the devs want to test them first themselves before releasing the game to mankind. But what I criticize is that there doesn't even seem to be an approximate schedule when they want to make the game available to the larger amount of testers. So far, all we hear is "when it's ready". That's a bit vague, especially since the game is still in alpha/beta, because it will never be "ready".
What is the roadmap, the plan? When can you expect 1.10 to be released? This quarter? Next quarter? This year? Next year?

And I stress again: the game is free and the devs don't owe us anything! Therefore, no one can actually ask or expect anything either. But there is a larger amount of testers available here, which in the past was also gladly used to test the game, only currently these people are left hanging in the air a bit.

I just appeal to the devs to at least give us an approximate way of how things are going. Is it worth it to check here every week for the new version or can I wait until summer, for example? I wouldn't have a problem with that, I have enough other games.
But this game needs the large amount of testers to find the bugs, so a little concession would be nice at least.

And last but not least: English is not my native language, so my posting may sound a bit bumpy.

When exactly will it be ready, or how do you define ready? Until the roughest bugs have been taken care of? Or until every spelling mistake and every mini-bug has been eliminated?
Definitely not spelling mistakes and mini-bugs, but there are many things half implemented and barely tested that should be completed before publishing the definitive version of 1.10, like the modding framework (which allows adding/removing mods to the game easier) or the changes on hypnosis (where we removed the limitations that practically prevented using mass hypnosis if there are quest characters in the area). Also bugs like the Sierra quest not progressing or the TO DO message displayed in some events due to an unimplemented method should be fixed too. As you see nothing about typos or mini-bugs in this list.

And is there ever a target release date?
Nope, there's never a target release date. Basically we release it when we feel that there is enough changes since the last public release and the game is stable enough to play it without too much problems. We already met the first condition when we started the closed beta of 1.10, but we still need to fix a few things for the second condition. Also there are ups and downs in the number of active developers and each of us prioritize the usage of our free time the way we want. You can't expect any of us working in this game unless we have time for it and we want to use it for the development of the game. Just the perks of having something free where nobody is paying nor earning money for this.

If you go by the download numbers of the patches, there are max. 5000 players. If you want to keep this number, you should offer the players something again sometime and not let them starve at the outstretched arm (is a German expression, I have no idea whether there is also in English).
To be honest I don't even care how many people plays the game. The reason I use my free time helping with its development is because I find coding fun and I'm one of those horny bastard that likes this game, so I try to give something (my time) to make something I like (this game) better for me. There isn't even a real roadmap (that I know) to define where we want the game to go, each of us have our own view of what would make the game better and we just add it, change existing things to make it match better our vision and discuss them when we think that those changes could conflict with the vision of the other developers. So basically we just do what we want during development and it's a miracle that things keep working in a mostly consistent way.

But I think that you don't want to create this game just for you.
Well, I do work in this game just for me. The only reason you or anyone else can play with my changes is because I decided to publish them instead of keeping those changes for me.

You didn't answer his questions, and merely presented the same answers he preemptively was trying to prevent.
Well, Reddead can try to prevent that answer as long as he wants, but nobody can give answers that don't exist. Nobody knows when it will be released, even us, the developers, don't know when it will be ready, because each of us have our own availability, our own objectives and in the end anyone of us can publish the game at any point. At least I don't think there is any rule that specifies that Shilo should be the one posting the new public version (even if he is in the end the one publishes it). If none of us publish it is because none of us thinks its ready for publishing yet. Even if I say that it will be published in February some other dev could add a new mechanic that is half implemented for internal testing and then even if I said that February would be the month don't feel that the game is in a publishable state. As long as I can't be sure of those kind of things the only release date I'm willing to say officially is "when it's ready". The same happens for all of the other devs. You'll never get a date from us unless the timespan for the release is something short enough like today or in a few hours.

Let it be said that this game was made from home regardless, and the lockdown nonsense should not effect whatever game progress was being made, especially over a year of it.
It's not my case, but I know people who draws porn in their free time that had to stop drawing due to lockdown. Not because they didn't have time for it or because they weren't used to doing it at home; just because since the lockdown started they couldn't get time to do it whithout their kids being at home. Working in porny things while your kids are at home is not in the manual of good parenting, you know?

What is the roadmap, the plan? When can you expect 1.10 to be released? This quarter? Next quarter? This year? Next year?
Well, if you just don't want to lose your time checking if there is a new release you can check it once per month or once per quarter. The time you lost if there is no release during that time isn't too much, and if there is a release you can play it then. There's no much difference between playing it during the week of the release or a few weeks later. Well, it's even better a few weeks later, because after the release we release fixes to the bugs not detected during internal testing.

You know what. I had typed up an extremely lengthy reply, but I just realized it would piss people off and solve nothing. There's no point. What was said speaks for itself. I've been checking everyday for years, but today was my final day. There's no point to hoping for something that the creators themselves are that oblivious and tone-deaf about. I'm sorry, but I've had enough. I'm sure I'll hear about the update if it ever releases. Goodbye friends.

Good things come to those who wait, but if you're not waiting for it, it will be released regardless. ;) Until then!

PhantomBull's answer was already quite enlightening. If I understood correctly, there is no real project manager like at regular development studios. Therefore, no one can give an exact release date, because every developer is constantly working on "his" data - until someone puts it online.
For a game that is developed by private people, I think that's fine. Even if it is a rather unsatisfactory situation for us players. But as I said before, the game is free, so no one can demand or ask for anything here.
But I'm honest: I think it's kind of stupid that we have to wait and wait and see no light at the end of the tunnel - but we have no other choice. :) So I can understand the anger of iruleatgames, even if I find his consequence a bit exaggerated.

Dude, just chill. I am following this game for god knows how many years. I am glad that there are people out there investing their own time into this game, especially without asking for anything. If they don't believe the update is ready for the public, so be it. Let's just wait, even if it's gonna be another couple of years.

How about adding the ability to add a spycam in the boys locker as well, and calculate on all sexes. I'm sure there is a subset of players that would appreciate a little more boy on boy action.
Has thought... are you motivated to find pics for such a change?
If so, we could collaborate on something there.

Sorry to dig up an old post, but is there still need for pictures? Seeing as I could not get the cams to work myself, I can probably find pictures.

Hi! Okay, I had time to replay HHS 1.9.5 from the beginning and I succeeded in making Peter an ally!
... But I have a completely different question, so you didn't have to read the first line of this post, sorry... This line neither, yeah...  :-[

Seriously, what do I have to do to get a date (by phone, it's the only way I discovered) with anybody? I tested at least ten students and three or four PTA members, but they all refused. Oh, very politely, like "Oh sorry, I really can't today, I have so many things to do" or even "Oh! What a shame, I can't, I just began to play HHS, I don't know when I can stop...."  ;D

Another question: Is it possible to interview and accept students for "other schools" or are they created from scratch? I know there are many (students from other schools) and I searched only for 4 or 5, but they never show... If impossible, can I cheat using the debug window... and how?

Thanks in advance.

You can ask for a date by phone or in person.

Step 1:
Students require 25 relationship and can not be asked at school.
Hired Staff require 10 relationship and any other adult can be asked without any relationship requirement,
Annette/Andy and not be asked on a date.

Step 2:
If you have dated someone in the last 7 days, they will ask you to wait; 7-30 days they will go out; 30+ days will require the basic check.

Step 3: Basic checks
If they are on into your gender they may not accept without higher circumstances.
If you have had sex with them, and they want more, they will probably accept.
The more attracted to you they are and the lower their inhibition, the better your chances with them.
Results:
If they are "a little embarrassed for you" it means they have <20 willingness. you will need a lot more work to get them to go out with you.
If they "politely refuses" you are getting closer, ask again, there is a random chance they will say yes.
Once their Willingness is 75+, they will always say yes.

To increase their willingness:
Talk to them and give them gifts.
Work on your appearance and stamina, work out and shower often, Grunge is a big turn off.
Work on your charisma, start with the book then flirt and kiss your way up.
Work on your authority, random events is the best way (maybe the only way).
Improve your relationship with them, start with lesser sex acts and work your way up (or down) to their panties.

Another question: Is it possible to interview and accept students for "other schools" or are they created from scratch? I know there are many (students from other schools) and I searched only for 4 or 5, but they never show... If impossible, can I cheat using the debug window... and how?
Every person in the game is created when the game is first started.
Students for "other schools" are in town ready to be enrolled in small groups on Mondays.

I don't see any way to debug someone into your school.

I don't think there is a way in game to add specific students to your school.
You would need to make a new event with the [Enlist Student] operation.
Look at \ExtensionLibrary\DailyEvents\UpdateStudentCount.ve.xml for how it is done every monday.

With code, everything is straight forward and I can explain it fairly well, with people it is more difficult.
Before reading more into my posts, know that I am not good at typing what I mean, I'm not good with explaining what I am thinking, its not intended to be offensive or defensive.

Wow, i couldn't have dreamed of a more complete and more detailed answers! Big thanks! :D
I guess I have to check everything now... There are so many parameters...  ???

Oh, maybe you're not good with explaining to people, but please, don't change that! I read your post only once, and I think I've understood everything!  8)
