If you can play the game, but only the development tab stuff doesn't work then... that's a new one.

Can't really help you much with this, other than saying to reinstall + make sure all requirements are met.

Extract fresh un-updated 1.9.5 and see if they start then.

No admin loc or antivirus checking the game folder. Otherwise there's some stuff here that might or might not help. https://www.henthighschool.com/hhsplus/hhs-won't-start-up-all-requirements-are-meet/

well the problem got sorted, just not in the way I had wanted. I did try reinstalling everything but it did not work.
The thing that fixed it was my whole computer broke and I had to wipe and reinstall windows.... hence the long time to reply whilst I got an install for windows.... but at least its working now :P

 A Guide to Making Items, and adding "Effects" to them.

I tried looking at the items in game already, like the "Slave Collar", which is supposed to 'effect' corruption, but the only xml I found has no information pertaining to that effect, and how it is implemented, it only describes the item and it's cost.

Can you help?

What you're looking at is the item definition, which describes how the item looks, how much it's worth, what it's called, etc.
For the actual effect, you need to look into the corresponding item event in Events\ItemEvents. If you're familiar with the VEE, you should be able to figure out how they work by checking out a few of the existing ones. There's also some good documentation on how item events work and how to make one yourself in the Docs folder, look for "Native & Item Events.pdf".

Yes, items are two-part if you wish for them to actually do anything:

  • ItemName.xml = General stuff like image, description, name, etc. can be done via the 'File Editor' with explanations for every field.
  • ItemName_ItemEvent.ve.xml (make sure the filename matches the real name) = what the item does when PC/NPC uses it. Anything goes here really, see other items and read the docs for understanding of the variables, like Mode.

Hey guys, I have started to work on some random events taking places in the streets, and I was wondering how the "city streets shared" work, specifically what streets are concerned or not when using it as a location?

I have some events in mind taking place in the residential areas like upper hollow, field street, etc... and was wondering if I should duplicate the events in each of those locations or if I could do it another way?

You can see what locations use that shared folder by opening the map (NormalSchool.xml) with any text editor and doing a search.

If all the locations you want to use are part of 'Shared' then the easiest way to avoid duplicating events is to check the Location Name in the Try-Phase.

I'm not sure what you mean? The big link works for everyone, the smaller ones only if you log in (thanks Microsoft)... I used what I was familiar with, and it doesn't look like Google Docs has a OneNote equivalent, which is more flexible for mixes of images and text.

They work for me.
-  You do have to read and follow the advice in barteke22's post above, if you want to directly access sub-sections via the sub-section links.
-  Alternately, read and follow the advice in the opening post (the bit beside the "The big link")
-  Or... just use "The big link".  Can get to everything from there anyways.

Hey, I know someone posted some good places to find images, but now I can't find it.  Any chance someone could post something here (or ideally if Barteke22 could put it in the first post)?  I'm trying to find some nice dark haired secretary with glasses pictures for Lydia and I'm really having no luck because all the sites I find have search by position or anime, not hair color or job or glasses.
