The process of installing a mod is pretty much the exact same process as installing HHS+ game updates: Follow the instructions provided by mod maker.

There isn't really a single process that can explain every case, as it is up to the mod maker to decide how they wish to share their files, and it is also up to them to provide the installation instructions.

I will provide an explanation of the general scenario (You always have to read ALL the instructions from the mod, as there can be exceptions):

• Downloading the mod.
  
  • Smaller/single files tend to be provided as an Attachment at the bottom of the first post. You have to be logged in to see them.
  • Bigger files tend to have a link to an external download site. Example: Click here to download.
• You put the file(s) into the right location.
  
  • Single .xml/image files have to be put into the right location, provided by the maker of the mod.
  • A .zip/.rar/.7z file will usually contain a folder structure. If it starts with 'Schools', you only have to drop that 'Schools' folder into your HHS+ folder.
• Say 'Yes' to overwrite if you're asked to. You've installed the mod!
• Depending on the mod, to get started with it same rules as game updates apply (should be explained by the mod maker):
  
  • If you have to/want to start a New Game. No need to do anything extra.
  • IF the mod works with existing saves, you have to Reload the Events (see image below). Done.

HHS+ Event making (things that happen) consists of using the Visual Event Editor (VEE), located in the 'Development' (next to 'Play' and 'Character Creation').

Custom Characters, Clubs, and most other data-related files can be edited with the File Editor (also in 'Development'), or a text editor like Notepad++.

For image editing, use an editor of your choice (I use GIMP2, a free Photoshop-like editor). For Paper Doll (PD)-editing see, 'Extra resources' at the bottom.


While going blindly into programming (in most languages) will likely leave anyone that isn't a programmer highly confused at what the flying f*** they are looking at, HHS+'s VEE is relatively easy to get into. Some programming knowledge is still great to have, but even though I'm a programmer myself - I haven't seen anything you couldn't simply Google or ask at these forums.

I RECOMMEND reading through all of the stuff located in the 'Docs' folder in your game folder. It covers the basics - pretty much anything you need to know to get started. Just do it.
The GetPhysical.pdf covers everything related to sexual acts (kissing, masturbation, sex, etc) - it's pretty long, but that's because it covers everything about the GetPhysical functions. If you're not interested in modding anything sexual, you can read it at your own discretion.
