This is somewhat interesting.

A big problem with HHS+ is the paperdoll system.
I can only do so much, before it gets too complex - and the boundaries are already pushed hard.

Currently, paperdolls for HHS+ are made using KKL2.
This tooling works quite well for most purposes - but there are already things in the game that are hard to work around.
One example is the public hair for adults: It requires an entire extra set of paperdolls just to support that.
Then there is the Panty Thief stuff - while still WIP, it requires two other sets of PDs - with and without panties.

I also wish to support different skin tones, lexville adds different vulvas - and the penis just pops out of the clothes on some futas.

I currently see two ways how this can move forward:
Render the paperdoll in the engine - and try to match what KKL2 produces, or just add more layers.
But just adding more layers would solve one thing (compatibility between lexville and the pregnancy mod) but it would break the current KKL tooling.

So, I have to say, impressive work so far.
For now it looks like only a side view is supported - while HHS+ uses a front view.

So in the end - if we could render characters like in your demo, with front view, that would be nice.

At the beginning I was a bit skeptical about using a side view for the paperdolls. I mean, I am used to VN so that would seem more natural.
But, now that the model viewer is done, Abelius is working on some animation and he posted it on in discord: yep, now I understand. Side view totally better .

The only weakness I see to your implementation is the added difficulty of modding Unity games (unless you add a robust mod system yourself).
If will certainly make is more difficult to find community support.

Regarding this, you're correct on all fronts. My game, as the vast majority of games out there, won't have a modding API.

But that's okay. I'm working on this full-time and I'm open to create events people suggest, if they're feasible and original.

Between this and Two Horns I'm pretty impressed with side scroller stuff lately.

(Yes, that game is weird.)

And it looks like the team that used to be working on Pytfall before the lead disappeared is using Unity too.

I know it was popular and probably pretty easy to create with, but I'm glad people are finally giving up on Ren'py.
