Proposed Decommission of Image/Media section of Forum
« on: September 08, 2018, 04:31:30 pm »

Since early on we've had an integrated image library plugged into the form through one of the larger mods for SMF, in more recent years its seen less traffic, I expect due to the complexity of using it alongside the forum.. its not really integrated with the forum, more just into the forum structure (much like I integrated Mantis and Dokuwiki.. they don't really work together, just share a common authentication foundation). I just don't think people find it useful, attachments and other things provide as much usefulness as people need at present.

Therefore I'd like to turn off the Media library mod, and eventually wipe its data, to allow us to seek better options/features and move forward with what is hosted here. I have considered a form of booru site which I believe is more friendly and usable by most for the forums, that is if there is even a desire.

Therefore I ask if you would vote on the options in the poll with this topic and leave any comments you wish. If people want it left, I'll leave it.
