The problem that Kite was hinting at is that, as of a few months back, that did not work.  Something was broken about that bk.ini setting such that it did not function correctly.  Kite was wondering if, in the time since that issue was first reported, has it been fixed?

There was nothing to 'fix', just _BK.ini sensitivity to improper syntax.

Last time I tried to exclude clones creation with BK.ini settings it didn't work, how about now? Can it be done?

I found no mention of this recently by you on this site. Did you post on F95zone (which I can't get to respond now)?

I know of no current problems other than the syntax/parsing errors Jman refers to.

I think I have seen questions about limiting clones like this multiple times already. I wonder if an additional global switch would be a good idea.

If you have a lot of girlpacks, you can in principle create unique girls for all positions (market and city). However, to enable that, you would have to manually edit your 100+ BK.ini files. And to later turn it off - again. You also would have to make sure there are no girlpacks without a BK.ini file.

You can probably automate that if you know what you're doing, but it's not really something I would recommend, because there's potential to ruin all of your BK.ini files at once.


I think the only thing you would have to consider is what to do if you enable this hypothetical global unique switch, but do not have enough girlpacks (or enough of them enabled through mixes). I think the two options are: create non-unique clones nontheless, or live with a rather empty city.

I'm not sure how that case is handled now (allowing only unique girls in all BK.ini's while not having enough girls). However, I guess right now that is not really a problem, because usually there are some girlpacks in virtually any BK installation that allow non-unique girls. (Or have no BK.ini at all) Having a global switch would instantly enable this absolute edge-case for everyone.


Personally, I would much prefer global "keep_first_name" and "keep_last_name". Most gold traits do not really fit my playstyle, so I don't care about unique girls. (Rather, I avoid them most of the time) But it would still be nice to have the girls keep their names.

Which leans towards adding two separate, and mutually exclusive, config settings.

1) Keep Original Names (But still allow clones, they just get the original name)
2) Disallow Clones.

As for how to handle when you run out of unique packs to build from, remember that "Original" girls are still effectively clones with a few hanged features.  They are separate instances of the girl.  There's nothing inherently game-breaking about having two "Original" girls built from the same pack.  They would have different initial stats and different traits, thus be different instances of the girl despite both being original. 

Having two girls with the same name could be confusing for the player, but they are the one who turned off the normal things to protect from that.  Maybe have a warning at the setting that it can result in duplicates with the same name if the user has too few packs.

Ok, i really need to ask this, so i had this item for a pretty long time (in-game) and i have yet to activate the event if any, but i wasn't able to do it yet, and everytime i checked the item renpy soft-crashed.

So... what should i do with this? Or it is just part of an unfinished event for v0.2?

If it's the cheap amulet you're referring to, that relates to a secret Blood Island group meeting, on a specific day of the month.

I'll check the specifics in a bit.

I was also told of an event in The "Guild Quarter" for a shop of some sort but I've explored at least 10 times a day and nothing has happened. Is this ingame or did I miss a trigger somehow?
Here is the full message for the guild quarter event, which should help: "The merchandise is brought to the guild quarter on the first Tuesday of every month. Look for a private club called 'Mania', and show them the amulet.
Don't expect any more intel from me, this is getting too dangerous. My cover is nearly blown, I'm out."

Nope. No current items go in vanilla game's Misc slot. Items in Misc category are treated as Use or Give, but not Equip.

So I suppose you meant, "in some future modification, could be put there."

The Misc slot may be intended for some future use, but might be better changed to Hidden status for now.

For Goldo: it would be nice if girls may have a new item slot for panties, allowing them to wear both a pair of it and a set of cat ears, or a nurse cap etc.
