Another suggestion:
The nude uniform policy. Change it from they must be naked to they can (if they want) be naked. The reaon is just that it's impossible to change all the image to reflect that, at least this way there are no discrepancy.

A simple misnaming. Happened two times in that file. The following file should fix it. Can you please confirm it?

Installation:
  • Update to Ashford Academy 0.4003
  • Copy file into "Ashford Academy/game/screens/"
  • Backup or overwrite class.rpy in that directory.
  • Remove class.rpyc if it exists.

Fix: I simply renamed evil_point to evil_points in line 729 and 846. Searching in all other files did not reveal that mistake again so it is only in that one file.

This is a really slick looking game. I enjoyed it a lot, although I don't know what I could contribute in terms of suggestions. There should be more things to spend points on and you should seriously consider adding building elements that affect your artistry rating, but I think right now those are development holes you already were planning to get to.

I personally would like to see mini-character-arcs play out over the course of the game. There's the one character who requests that the pool would be re-opened and your secretary, and the one scene with the student council president, but there's a lot more potential to be explored there. I've always felt that the point of the Hentai High series was gradually turning the school into a place where you could get away with having a harem of students and teachers, and you seem to have a really good start in that direction.

I agree with NoMoshing on the individual storylines angle. While the original worked well on corrupting the school in general, the successors did a very good job with giving faces to go with that corruption. Teachers and students you WANT to see twisted and perverted and changed.

I'm not sure what direction you'll ultimately take this, but I think that's the most constructive thing you can do. Add to the general content and give a few faces you'd like to see wearing a perverted expression to personalize it. Seems like you have the start of a few, so good luck with them!

Adding clubs that can potentially earn you money. don't worry about regular clubs just corrupted versions like have a orb purchase for corrupt cheerleaders or corrupt science club(which can give you potential for sex tech) or corrupt student council from the president and spread from there. just some ideas no need to do them exactly or even at all I will still play. (as I said I like it and see alot of potential)

Also what are the requirements to continue past the second encounter with Amagi (the blond female student) I got the Second and i picked the option where i remember her name.

About Amagi:
there are three events
  • class introduction
  • when you remember her name (or not)
  • when she asks you how you are
There is a fourth (festival) event but it seems unaccessible.
And some of the images are unused.
Give him time to expand it ;)

Just as a general note about Amagi- I didn't remember her name the first time around, but I guessed it was the one option that had a name in it. Maybe instead, have a thing where one of the potential answers is a wrong name deliberately added?

I agree with character specifics stories (with different choices), also stories specific to the principal would be great too. I really liked how HHS2 was designed because of this !

About the orb spending : What about using them to recruit some specific characters (teachers, librarian, etc...) ?

About the loading issue:
Seems to be a saving "bug" by renpy.
http://www.renpy.org/doc/html/save_load_rollback.html

Changed values of objects are not saved if the object itself didn't change (overly broad explanation).
As far as I see __Period class inside of day_planner.rpy is stored in store variable.
See dp_period() and __set_noncurried()
It might be that everything stored in that variable is not saved.

The missing buttons may be the most obvious bug but more subtle one (other unsaved objects) could still be in there.

Or I might be wrong - out of time and too lottle knowledge about renpy yet.

If this is fixed it is likely that old saves still won't work (without the workaround).

Might be "__periods = { }" that is not saved correctly.

Thanks mate! You keep showing up solving bugs and helping others, I really appreciate it, let me just run away and see if I can fix this one.


i just have to ask, 'cause i don't understand it:

since my values are maxed (school values and deviance) and my inhibition is zero, every week planning my "hero" says "the students need to be more relaxed..."
how can i do it, I thought, low inhibition will relax them...

also i don't understand the result of the randomly appearing basket match when exploring gym, my school won it once (athletics around 40) but since athletics are above 50 i always loose (not the volley tournament organized in the end of the month...)...

and there are still pics in the game folder which are unused in the game, right?...

The basket match bug is fixed in this version! :)
At the moment all pictures is used (except story_screens/lib), last version had a few pictures not used due to policy's that wasn't available.

I'm not always sure what I'm doing, I tend to have very few goals and try to put them in span of days or weeks. Right now I want you to feel that it's actually a school and try to use the "interior" a bit more.

Always happy to see new updates^^

If you want I tried something for the raise money monthly event. Just need to paste the file in the relative .rar. Those file are updated to this last version.
The code i used is not bad (i just mostly copied from yours^^) but the images still feels weird. Some of them were not good to begin with, and the expansion made them worst. (it's hard to find good images and it's harder to find them on 1280x720)
Apart from the images I think it's all OK.


Then I added two line of code to date.rpy to add one new variable:  "total_days"
Just a counter to know how many days have passed in total. I thought that could be useful instead of using days, months and years (in case you want some event to start only later in the game).


The last one are some images, i'm using now.. i don't even know why i added them...

It's more like easily deployable in android, not playable as-is. To play in android you need to recompile the source code with an android-compatible compiler (found in the Ren'Py official site) as far as I know.

As for the game itself, it's quite great. I've now netted 4 years in NG+ trying to actually drop my reputation to zero.

A few notes :
1. Have an "End Game" button maybe with an appropriate summary screen for someone who wants to end current game, or impose a 2-3 year limit per game, so you actually have a goal of some kind.

2. Don't know if it's easily coded, but i'd just love to have a tickbox or some other form of control (maybe a "make default") over the daily planning. Tried to hunt for a couple of events in class/school grounds and it got a bit tedious ticking the same planning each day for over a month.  :)

Also, and that's more like thinking out loud, perhaps an achievement system could be incorporated, like have all Academics > 50 in 4 months' time etc. etc., and even tie specific buildings/upgrades or events to achievement triggers. And mutually exclusive achievements would surely add to replay value. (I might have a go myself and try to hook a basic achievement function, seeing as python is pretty straightforward, if that's ok with you)
