personaly i dont see much benefit from nr1. additional clubs was discused few times already. everyone wants them. at least to be par with original. 3. having special student to be like assistant/slave for mc is nice idea but lot of works so i think only way if someone make mode for it. dramchaser already quite busy and doing good job.
4nr i know some people have pregnancy fetish but for hi school that would make huge disbalance in student numbers and there you want to put mothers? open kindergarden? nr5 is already implemented by bdsm punishments and have few events.
6.than somehow looks like unneeded as where is no event of then graduating. so another complete event branch
7. maybe as extra event late in game or as aditional event like getting postcard or alumi students visits.

Hey, I can't really work Ren'py well, but I've got a couple ideas that I thought might be interesting.

1. separated dresscode or entrance requirements for girls and boys.  It was kinda inferred/stated in the original AA that the dresscode just wasn't really enforced for boys on campus, which I appreciate, but I think that making both dresscode and entrance requirements different for whether students are male or female could open up some interesting-and hot-avenues.

2.some mid-to-high corruption/lust clubs to be unlocked.  Like a prostitution club, or a cow club.

3.having a 'personal assistant' chosen every day/week/month from the students to be the MC's lackey/live-in sex slave for a bit.  There's no reason why our MC should be going to bed every night alone-I mean, outside of gameplay considerations, and I don't know how this would work, but thought it'd be fun.  Plus, it'd let us get a more personal view of how our students see Ashford Academy.

4.Birth control policies[mid-corrupted school].  It can start out as a way to keep the student mother population low, before becoming a way to keep it high later if something like 'fertility drugs in every meal' is chosen or something.

5.Lewd bullying?  Some people are into being bullied, so even at high Discipline and Happiness, it'd crop up later in High-Lust.

6.Girls offering to just stay at the Academy forever.  I'm sure that there'd be more than a few by the end-game that'd prefer to just keep their current high-sex lifestyle going.

7.news of how your students are doing post-graduation.  Can range from, 'I became a sushi chef' to 'It was tough considering I haven't owned clothes since Freshman Year but I'm happy' to letters from parents letting the MC know that they're definitely sending their other children to AA.

No.
Even just having pictures differ according to the dresscode (for both sexes) is a big immersion boost. But at the same time, it means a lot more work to find fitting pictures. I do not intend to make the dresscode any more complex than it is right now.

2)
Sure.
I don't have the time to make up events for more clubs in the forseeable future. But the coding is easy enough, and I posted an example here.
You can either take that code and run with it (everything should be forward compatible in 0.3), wait for 0.3 to release in the next weeks, and have the new base with that disabled example club in the game and better documentation, or you can start just gathering pictures and text to go with them.
With the release of 0.3, I intend to open a thread where I offer to turn pictures+text into new events. I will absolutely be open to set up new clubs using that avenue as well.  :D

3)
Absolutely outside of my current scope, I am afraid. Though it does sound like a fun idea. If anybody wants to make a mod implementing that, speak up, and we'll talk about what hooks you might need added to the game to make it work.  ;)

4)
If I come across way more pictures of pregnant students than I have so far (none), then it might happen at some point. Maybe.
Until then, feel free to make a policy mod to implement it (You'd need events with pictures to make it more than a bare policy with just number effects, though.)

I really doubt anybody plays this for more than 4 in game years, so practically speaking it would make no difference. You can of course make up event chains where the girl ends up deciding that.

Enjoying this version of AA, thank you for creating!  I have an old version with some characters that aren't in yours?  Hinata the pink haired girl, Asugi the blonde and then scenes with Rina the swimmer.  I guess I had downloaded some other independent mod?  I miss those characters/scenes from your version, not to take away from your work.  I'm really enjoying the game!

I guess that must have been an independent mod?
In AA classic, there was one scene during the introduction which set up a promise to build a swiming pool to a girl. But that never went anywhere, so I cut off that dead end.
There was also some kind of investigation into the school which just ended up fizzling out?  ???

Other than that it doesn't ring a bell with me.
If you could try to figure out whether you had a mod installed or not (and if so, which one), I might take another look at that old content, if I can find it, and see what I could adapt for AAR.  :)
(Though if its a mod and not the base game, I have so far kept to the policy on not stepping on the mod authors toes - after all, the mods will work with AAR just as well. But then I'd at least test whether the mod works without any problems.)

AA classic had quite a few things which were started and just never finished. One of the first things I did was paring the game down to the actually completed content so that I'd have a solid base to build of from. So the main trick is to find stuff that was along far enough to be worth finishing, and to have the ideas where to take it.
Content wise, I have my own ideas of what I want to add to the game too, as can be seen in 0.3 quite well.  ;)

But if anybody wants to hand me content to add to the game that is not just a dangling loose end - I'll most gladly add it in! That's how Susan and Marina got added.  :)

Another point would be the slow increase of reputation. Maybe add a yearly/biyearly event that rewards reputation/money if academics/arts/athletics are high enough.
Nah, I like the slow increase in population, as that is what drives the money curve. I want to keep a languid pace to the game. Quickly raising your reputation would destroy that.

Hey Dreamchaser, excellent work on the game so far.  I wrote a 5/5 star review for it over on f95.  I played through almost 4 years of the game, and I think I've experienced everything in the current version.  But I wanted to come here and throw my two cents in.  I have to agree with Kusoyaro that the reputation grind feels off compared to the curves in the rest of the game.  Taking a major reputation hit when one class graduates feels very odd.

I think, in a perfect world, your reputation would take a hit or a gain depending on your school's academics and athletics at the very least, if not also morale and behavior.  As a class of students graduates, year to year, a boost to the school's reputation (or a hit if those stats are in the tank) seem like they would make logical sense.  A new class leaves and spreads the word about the excellent education they received at Ashford Academy.  Parents tell their peers that little sally or Johnny just graduated, and then those peers enroll their children, etc.  It's kind of how schools work and why colleges are so big on keeping in touch with alumni.  I personally feel like the current mode of just taking a straight up hit to reputation when a new class comes in doesn't make sense or fit the currently smooth arc of gameplay.

But otherwise I think the game is fantastic, you've done an amazing job so far.  Great work!

Reputation is already changed compared to what Kusoyaro commented on, and now mostly riffs of the the current student stats instead of rising slowly but inevitably.
I like the new way better in general, as it starts of quicker, but does not simply rise into the sky.
But you are right, the reputation hit at the end of the school year (because the influx of new students worsens your student stats) does feel weird. I just hadn't thought about it yet.

I'll see what I can do to implement an end of school year boost!  :)

EDIT: And already implemented. Will be in 0.3.2  :)

Have made an account and responded. Let's see what comes of that, but I think the additional exposure of AAR can only be a good thing.  :)

In game_data.rpy set "config.developer = True". If you then load your game, the menu point "Debug" can be seen in the main menu screen below "Budget".

Well, feel free to suggest anything you want. Detailing ideas is always a good thing, and might inspire me or a mod author. Just from the topic it does not sound like something I am likely to write events for, though.

I would suggest that the number of events in high inhibition (like when game start) increased,
this is to balance out the longer days needed to build up stats..

when the game start, it feels same event keep triggering same thing again and again, just to get money for building and stat before more event unlocked thru stats..

I've always really enjoyed AA, but I can't help but feel like I might be doing something wrong when I play it. It takes me ~2 hours to start getting any ecchi scenes at around the start of year 2, and by that time I still haven't managed to afford all the facilities or unlock even the "sexy" policies. Am I just really bad at the game? It seems odd that I spend over an hour at the start of every new game just clicking through the first year and seeing the same basic events over 30 times before anything actually "happens" in the game.

Edit: I'm aware of and will probably use the "easy mode" mod in the future, was just wondering if this was the intended experience without that.

afaik, the initial AA is much faster, just AAR is making it more grinder, progress are much slower but much more enjoyed..

unlike AA, no ridiculous repetitive event other school got closed and we got suddenly spike of new students.. << this caused major income flux and then build and unlock things faster..
effect of much event also much better in AAR, most of it are calculated properly,slow as it is, but it also less spiky, be it for positive stat or negative stat..
but in return, at start, we keep repeating same event again and again till have enough money for unlocking buildings..  :-\
